Conciliation and Mediation Skills

Conciliation and mediation are techniques in great demand.   Family law requires mediation before a
couple go to court.  The NHS complaints procedure requires the use of conciliation to resolve
complaints.  The travel industry, finance sector and many others need skilled conciliators and/or
mediators.  Bob Debell, our managing director, is the author of the only textbook on the subject
'Conciliation and Mediation in the NHS', published by Radcliffe Medical Press.

Bob leads our ‘in-house’ Conciliation and Mediation skills workshop, a two day ‘in-house’ workshop
with the first day dedicated to clarification and explanation of the processes involved.  The optional
second day is spent in practical mediation and conciliation exercises which the delegates work on
overnight.  The whole programme enables a person starting or developing their role as a conciliator
to confidently practice, and develop their own style over a period of time.  The workshop has been
very successfully used within NHS Trusts, Legal practices, Voluntary Organisations.
